Sometimes the most meaningful moments in professional wrestling don't begin inside the ring. They begin with a simple act of kindness, a genuine connection, and someone taking the time to believe in another person's dream.

For our family at Turnbuckle Tribe, one of those stories began with an independent professional wrestler named Mathias.

What started with a few Instagram comments eventually became a birthday surprise, an unexpected opportunity, and a full-circle moment at CCP Podcasting in Casselberry, Florida, that we'll never forget.

And at the center of it all was a wrestler who took the time to make a 13-year-old aspiring wrestling commentator feel like his dreams mattered.

It All Started With Mathias on Instagram

Like many of the relationships we've built throughout the independent wrestling community, our connection with Mathias began through social media.

Dan first discovered Mathias on Instagram. After exchanging a few comments back and forth, something stood out.

Mathias wasn't simply responding to another wrestling fan. He took a genuine interest in learning about Trystan and the journey behind Turnbuckle Tribe.

For those unfamiliar with our story, Trystan is a 13-year-old aspiring professional wrestling commentator who dreams of one day working for WWE.

His journey comes with challenges that aren't always visible to the outside world. Living with complex medical conditions means that even ordinary activities can require additional effort, determination, and perseverance.

But Trystan has never allowed those challenges to define the size of his dreams.

That's why we created Turnbuckle Tribe, a family-driven wrestling media platform built around a simple belief:

Dreams Bigger Than Diagnosis.

As Mathias learned more about Trystan, he did something that left a lasting impression on our family.

He showed that he cared.

Not through a big public announcement or grand gesture, but by taking the time to connect with a young person who loves professional wrestling and dreams of becoming part of the industry.

Sometimes, that means more than people realize.

A Birthday Message From SoCal Pro That Meant So Much More

For Trystan's 13th birthday, Mathias went out of his way to record a personalized Happy Birthday video from the SoCal Pro wrestling training facility in Southern California.

Think about that for a moment.

Here was an independent wrestler, busy pursuing his own professional wrestling ambitions, taking time out of his day to recognize a young fan thousands of miles away.

He didn't have to do it.

There was no obligation, no expectation, and nothing to gain.

He simply wanted to make Trystan's birthday special.

As parents, those are the gestures that stay with you.

When you're raising a child who faces challenges that many people never see, you learn to appreciate the individuals who look beyond those challenges and recognize the person, the passion, and the potential.

Mathias did exactly that.

He saw a young wrestling fan with a big dream and took a moment to encourage him.

At the time, we couldn't have imagined how significant that connection would become.

Because a little while later, something incredible happened.

An Opportunity From Chris Page and CCP Podcasting

While our connection with Mathias was developing, another door was beginning to open for Trystan.

Chris Page, through CCP Podcasting, offered Trystan an opportunity that represented a major milestone in his journey.

His very first professional wrestling commentary assignment.

For a young man who dreams of becoming a WWE commentator, this was an opportunity to experience the industry from an entirely different perspective.

Not as a fan watching from the audience.

Not practicing commentary while watching matches at home.

But sitting behind a real commentary desk, wearing a headset, and helping tell the story of a live professional wrestling match.

The assignment would take place at the Empire Professional Wrestling Institute in Casselberry, Florida, where CCP Podcasting hosts its independent wrestling events.

Naturally, our family was incredibly excited.

But what happened next made the opportunity even more meaningful.

When Chris Page Learned About Mathias, Everything Came Full Circle

Somewhere along the way, Chris learned about the connection Trystan already had with Mathias.

He learned how we'd first connected through Instagram.

How Mathias had taken an interest in Trystan's journey.

And how this wrestler from Southern California had gone out of his way to send Trystan a birthday message from the SoCal Pro training facility.

Chris recognized an opportunity to make Trystan's first commentary experience something truly special.

And that's exactly what he did.

Chris arranged for Trystan's very first professional wrestling commentary assignment to be Mathias vs. Terry Kid at CCP Podcasting.

Of all the wrestlers Trystan could have called for his first match, it would be Mathias.

The same wrestler who had encouraged him from across the country.

The same wrestler who had remembered his birthday.

The same wrestler who had taken the time to learn about his journey before they ever shared that moment at a wrestling event.

It was one of those situations where everything seemed to align perfectly.

And while the opportunity itself was already extraordinary, Chris Page's thoughtfulness turned it into something our family will always remember.

He didn't simply give Trystan a commentary assignment.

He helped connect two journeys in a way that neither of us could have anticipated.

July 11, 2026: Mathias vs. Terry Kid

On July 11, 2026, everything came together at CCP Podcasting in Casselberry, Florida.

Trystan stepped behind the commentary desk for the very first time to call Mathias vs. Terry Kid.

The matchup featured two contrasting wrestling styles.

Mathias, bringing his hard-hitting powerhouse approach from the West Coast independent wrestling scene, faced Terry Kid, whose speed, technical ability, and unpredictability created a compelling challenge.

It was a true East Coast vs. West Coast showcase.

For Trystan, it was also his first opportunity to experience the responsibilities of a professional wrestling commentator.

He had prepared for the moment, studying wrestling terminology, learning how to describe the action, and practicing how to tell the story of a match.

But nothing quite compares to putting on that headset for the first time and realizing that the moment you've dreamed about is actually happening.

And there, right in front of him, was Mathias.

A wrestler whose kindness had already become part of Trystan's story.

Now, that same wrestler was part of another milestone.

What began as a few Instagram comments had somehow led to Trystan calling Mathias's match during his professional wrestling commentary debut.

It was more than a wrestling match to our family.

It was a reminder of how powerful genuine connections can become.

From a Birthday Video to a Post-Match Interview

The story didn't end when the final bell rang.

Following the match, Trystan and Turnbuckle Tribe had the opportunity to interview Mathias.

Consider how much had changed in such a short period of time.

Their connection began online, with a wrestler taking an interest in a young fan's journey.

Then came a birthday video from the SoCal Pro training facility.

And now Trystan was standing face-to-face with Mathias, conducting a wrestling interview after calling his match.

For a young aspiring broadcaster, those experiences are invaluable.

Every interview helps build confidence.

Every conversation provides an opportunity to learn.

And every moment spent around professional wrestling brings Trystan another step closer to understanding the industry he hopes to make his future.

But perhaps the most meaningful part was that the connection had never been about getting something in return.

It began with kindness.

And it grew into something neither side could have planned.

What Mathias Reminded Us About Independent Wrestling

Professional wrestling is often measured by championships, victories, rivalries, and unforgettable performances.

And while all of those things matter, our experience with Mathias reminded us of something equally important.

The impact a wrestler can have outside the ring can be just as meaningful as anything they accomplish inside it.

Mathias is pursuing his own goals and ambitions in professional wrestling.

Like so many independent wrestlers, he puts in the work, travels, trains, and continues building his career.

But somewhere in the middle of chasing his own dream, he found time to encourage someone else's.

That says something about the person behind the wrestler.

And it's exactly the kind of story we want to share through Turnbuckle Tribe.

We believe independent wrestling deserves more recognition, not only for the incredible talent performing inside the ring but also for the individuals who make the wrestling community special.

  • The people who take time to encourage a young fan.
  • The wrestlers who remember a birthday.
  • The promoters who recognize an opportunity to help someone grow.
  • And the communities that make room for the next generation.

The Role Chris Page and CCP Podcasting Played

While this story began with Mathias, it wouldn't have come full circle without Chris Page and CCP Podcasting.

Chris recognized something special in the connection between Mathias and Trystan.

Rather than allowing that connection to remain simply a nice story, he found a way to make it part of an important milestone.

Through CCP Podcasting, Trystan was given the opportunity to begin developing his skills in a real professional wrestling environment.

And by assigning Mathias vs. Terry Kid as his first match, Chris made that experience deeply personal.

We're grateful for the opportunity, the thoughtfulness, and the trust Chris placed in Trystan.

Independent wrestling organizations like CCP Podcasting play an important role in creating opportunities, not only for wrestlers but for the future commentators, interviewers, and media personalities who hope to become part of the industry.

For Trystan, that first commentary assignment represented the beginning of a new chapter.

And Chris Page helped make sure it was a chapter worth remembering.

Sometimes the Smallest Gestures Create the Biggest Moments

Looking back, what stands out most about this entire experience isn't simply that Trystan got to call a professional wrestling match.

It's how everything came together.

  • A father discovering a wrestler on Instagram.
  • A few comments that turned into a genuine connection.
  • A wrestler taking the time to learn about a young boy's journey.
  • A birthday video recorded at a wrestling training facility thousands of miles away.
  • An unexpected commentary opportunity through Chris Page and CCP Podcasting.
  • And finally, that same wrestler stepping into the ring for Trystan's very first commentary assignment.

None of us could have imagined that sequence of events when we first connected with Mathias.

Yet somehow, one act of kindness helped set the stage for a memory our family will carry for years.

It's a reminder that you never really know how much your actions can mean to someone else.

A few encouraging words.

A birthday message.

A chance to try something new.

Those moments matter.

And sometimes they become part of a much bigger story.

To Mathias and Chris Page: Thank You

Mathias, we want you to know how much we appreciate the kindness you've shown Trystan.

From those first interactions on Instagram to the birthday message from SoCal Pro, you made a young aspiring broadcaster feel supported.

You didn't have to take that time, but you did.

And that made a difference.

Chris, thank you for giving Trystan his first commentary opportunity and for recognizing how meaningful it would be to have Mathias involved in that milestone.

To everyone at CCP Podcasting, thank you for welcoming Trystan into the world of independent wrestling commentary and giving him an opportunity to learn and grow.

The connection between Mathias, Chris Page, CCP Podcasting, and Turnbuckle Tribe is one our family will always cherish.

Not because of a championship.

Not because of a victory or defeat.

But because of the people behind the experience.

The Journey Is Just Beginning

Trystan still has a long road ahead as he works toward his dream of becoming a professional wrestling commentator and one day working with WWE.

There will be more challenges, more opportunities to learn, and hopefully many more unforgettable moments.

But one thing we've learned through this journey is that dreams are rarely achieved alone.

Sometimes it takes a wrestler willing to offer encouragement.

Sometimes it takes a promoter willing to open a door.

And sometimes it takes a community that recognizes the potential in a young person and helps them take that next step.

For our family, Mathias and Chris Page are part of that story.

And we couldn't be more grateful.

Because at Turnbuckle Tribe, we've always believed that dreams can be bigger than any diagnosis.

And sometimes, the people you meet along the way help remind you just how possible those dreams can be.

Dreams Bigger Than Diagnosis.
